DRIVER / YARD CREW MEMBER

• Answers questions, identifies and directs customer to building materials and supplies in the yard and warehouse.
• Operates forklift safely and effectively to load, unload and move materials in the yard and warehouse.
• Assists customer in loading purchased materials safely and accurately into customer’s vehicle.
• Verifies load ticket to ensure accuracy with purchased materials.
• Loads product on to store delivery trucks for delivery and transfer.
• Covers exposed materials, when required, to prevent weather damage.
• Assists with unloading deliveries as needed.
• Be well organized, dependable, able to effectively communicate, be very detail oriented with the ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and six months experience with performing these or similar tasks; or equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
• Teledyne / Forklift experience
• 2 years of verifiable experience
• No more than 2 citations in the last 3 years
• No criminal convictions of a violent or dishonest nature in the past 7 years

Work Environment / Physical Activity

• Work is performed primarily in an outdoor yard environment, subject to variations in temperature and weather, equipment noise and dust.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds.
• Must be able to physically operation forklift equipment (climb up and down into cab, twist torso for 360 degree visibility, use arms to operate controls.

COUNTER SALES / CUSTOMER SERVICE

• Counter Sales (Contractor and Retail showroom)
• Customer Service Experience! You are the first person they see / talk to, so must have great customer service skills!
• Experience & Knowledgeable in the construction / landscape industry a plus
• Computer Knowledgeable Microsoft Word & Excel
• Monday -Sunday Hours
• Phone skills (40 to 50% of the time will be spent on the phone w/ customers
• Estimating/takeoffs (math skills) helpful

GARDEN CENTER/GREENHOUSE/FOUNTAIN HOUSE ASSISTANT

Attention to cleanliness, care of trees & plants, irrigation monitoring, restocking and loading plants, bagged materials, plus retail products. This position requires individuals to work in an outdoor environment year-round in all weather conditions.

Daily Responsibilities may include:

• Provide excellent friendly and efficient customer service
• Available to work a varied schedule, including Saturdays & Sundays, in all adverse environmental and weather conditions.
• Learn and implement daily and seasonal opening and closing procedures.
• Daily inspection, restocking, preparation of merchandise.
• Assist in general nursery maintenance, including watering and pruning, transplanting, fertilizing, controlling insects, disease, and weeds
• Advise customers on plant selection, garden layout, planting, plant care, and pruning.
• Inventory and restock garden center retail merchandise
• Operation of heavy equipment a plus
• May set up, adjust, and maintain electrical devices such as irrigation control units, greenhouse control units, mist control units
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. + consistently throughout the day.
• Perform routine maintenance on and modifications to a variety of greenhouse and nursery equipment; maintain irrigation systems
• Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition
• Experience in garden, lawn, and landscaping industry is not necessary but is helpful.
